NOTICE OF FILLING 2 VACANCIES FOR COUNCILLORS BY CO-OPTION
Persons wishing to be considered for co-option, and who fulfil the requirements for appointment as Councillors for this Parish, are invited to complete a form giving their willingness to be considered for co-option. The forms should be completed on or before the 31st July 2019. The Parish Council will then consider the applications and a decision will be made at the September Council meeting. (the timeframe is due to there being no Council meeting in August).
Potential Councillors must be:
- 18 years of age or over
- A British, Commonwealth Citizen, Commonwealth Citizen or Euronational Citizen (who is a registered elector)
- Resident for 12 months prior to the day of election -either in the parish or within 3 miles of the boundary.
- Occupied Land or premises for 12 months as owner or tenant – either in the parish or within 3 miles of the boundary.
- Had a principal place of work – either in the parish or within 3 miles of the boundary.
The completed form will assist the Parish Council in forming an opinion as to a candidate’s suitability for co-option. Candidates will have the opportunity to attend the September Parish Council meeting before the selection proceeding.
